Customer Question

Wish to put a 2,0 Liter Ecotec Motor with turbo and Automatic trans in my vintage
truck. My problem is getting the motor to run and not using a computer. Is this
possible to do and run the truck on the street?

Hello

yes its entirely possible and rather than use an original Ford ECU which will need all sorts of other inputs ( body control module, security key , door switches etc etc) I'd recommend the use of an aftermarket ECU such as

http://www.linkecu.com/

or

http://www.haltech.com/

or

http://www.emeraldm3d.com/

all of these manufacturers produce units that can control a turbo

the trickier aspect is the auto box as the modern auto transmissons need an ECU to control them so something like an old GM torqueflite which just needs engine vacuum to drive it

it would need a bellhousing making up though
