Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! The problem almost surely isn't speed sensor related. The vehicle speed sensor could cause an issue with fourth gear, but at the most it would simply downshift to third. It wouldn't cause the trans to disengage and it wouldn't affect other gears. If it's disengaging you could have an internal hydraulic issue, possibly a misadjusted throttle valve cable or restricted cooler. Can you explain exactly what symptoms you're having?Which engine do you have?
