Chevrolet Express Van 1500: I had a rear main seal replaced

Customer Question

I had a rear main seal replaced in my 2000 chevy 1500 Express van recently. Yesterday all transmission fluid leaked out suddenly. Does this leak have anything to do with replacing seal?

sorry for the delay.............Greetings...... “Hi, I’m Don (aka MOLurch) and I look forward to helping you!”.Typically the Transmission is removed to install the Rear Main Seal. When the Transmission was removed or installed, it could have disturbed the Front Transmission Seal, causing the Leak.Depending on how many miles on the vehicle / Transmission, we always recommend a New Front Transmission Seal also.IF you need more information, please ask "prior" to Rating..
