Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

I'm showing 1993-2000 transmissions may be interchangeable.

You originally had and the replacement are both AW-4, correct?

What wiring difference are you seeing?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Is that the range sensor connector?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

yes,the 3 by 2 by 3 is the range from the 98 and the black one from the 96 is also the range.......the other 98 i believe is the siloniod control and same with the gray 96

Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 2 years ago.
The correct thing to do would be to swap the harness and the range sensor from the old trans. Were you not able to do this?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

What about the wiring for the other sensor?

Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 2 years ago.
Which other sensor?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

96 is on the left and 98 is on the right how am i supposed to splice them together. those are the sylinoid controlers

Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 2 years ago.
The wiring harness for the solenoids and speed senors should be swapped.
The range sensor should be swapped.
No splicing should be done.
