I am changing the CV driver shafts for a Toyota Highlander 2008. my manuals and the YouTube videos show that the CV axle is released by removing a 14 mm bolt below or the axle enters the transaxle and removing small clamp. my vehicle has needed the clamp nor the Holt. instead I have six bolts to remove and I'm done bearing. it appears that after the bolts are removed drive axle can be removed with the bearing support cover coming with it. I have a 1986 Toyota Celica. when you remove the CD drive shafts on it it has the same bearing support cover. I'm concluding that my vehicle is simply different from the standard CV driveshaft. the problem I'm having is the 6th bold which is located at 1 o clock is so close to the bracket in front of it that I can't get a bolt wrench on a socket around it. I'm assuming that there is a trick of some sort here I am going to try to loosen the bracket so that I can move it up slightly.
