Customer Question
I've got 2007 Rav4...

I've got 2007 Rav4 (4 cylinder) with the Check Engine light on, along with 4WD and VSC light being displayed. A scan with my Genisys EVO scanner showed Code P0031, indicating the upstream oxygen sensor. I replaced it with quality Denso sensor, only to have the same results.

Mechanic's Assistant: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?

Stays on

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your RAV4 yourself? What have you tried so far?

I am fixing it myself---all I've tried was the upstream oxygen sensor. I cleared the code only to have the Check Engine light come back on within 10 seconds followed by the VSC and 4WD lights. Scan still shows problem with the upstream oxygen sensor.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

That's all I got.

It's a problem with the sensor heater control circuit, it will need further diagnosing , I'm attaching some test information that may help you or a mechanic you may go to do the test flow chart.
