Second opinion] turn signal / brake circuit is dead. tail light circuit is live. Factory package 5 pin flat and 7 pin round side by side.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the bulbs? Have you checked the connection?

Truck lights work. I checked for voltage using a test light at the trailer connectors. tail light pin is live. Turn signal pins are dead.

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Toyota?

2007 SR5 standard cab, 5.7l, 4wd

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cab yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes. I checked all fuses.

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka-Moose).

  • THE TIME I AM ONLINE, 7 days a week normally online around midday and then late evening until early morning.
  • PHONE CALLS are automatically offered by the website normally after my first reply. I complete calls where I feel it is a benefit.
  • UPLOADED LINKS I SEND, if I upload dropbox links, they will open on a home PC, often they fail on a work PC, on a phone use the box on the top right of your phone screen for direct download.

Is the concern on the truck and trailer connector or just the trailer connector?

Ask Your Own Toyota Question
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
The trailer connectors on the truck - both the flat and round one. No voltage on the brake/turn signal contacts. Tail light contact works fine. Fuses all check ok.
Toyota Mechanic: Chris (aka-Moose), Auto Technician replied 3 months ago

The trailer connector left and right stop turn signals come from the flasher relay behind the left side of the dash. Brakes applied see if you get power there on pin 9 yellow and 18 black. If there is no power there, then the relay is bad.

You now will see a rating scale 1=bad to-5=excellent because I have posted a full or partial answer instead of an info request. When you rate I get a portion of the deposit you made, no rating means you still paid, but I earn nothing. My goal is understanding your question, and addressing it in full detail. In return, receiving a 5-star rating. Rating does not close the post or stop the conversation. Please keep in contact and reply as much as needed. Thanks, Chris
