Good morning,

Batteries are categorized in group sizes. The 2005 corolla uses a group 35 battery from the factory, but can also use a group 26R battery if you are looking for a higher amperage battery.

Also, can I ask why you prefer the battery from the dealer?

I always thought that battery from the factory last longer..
For example for my Mercedes it's recommended by mechanic better stick with OEM
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
There is VIN
2t1br32e75c358184

Some dealer batteries are better, most are not. As far as toyota, nissan, ford, dodge, and chevy the dealer battery is usually made by the exact same manufacturer as the batteries in the parts store but cost 2-3 times more from the dealer. East Penn is the main manufacturer for these dealers (none of them have their own battery plant). East Penn also makes most of the parts store brand batteries so to save money and get the same quality battery you are generally fine to use a parts store battery rather than the dealer.

Ask Your Own Toyota Question

The factory battery for that VIN is a Group 35. Just Answer doesn't let us see any personal customer information- Which parts stores do you have in your part of the country?

Auto zone, advance Auto, Napa
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
Next nights we expecting cold impact .. -4 F..)

So if you go to Autozone you would be looking for either the 35-DLG which is identical to the factory battery, or you could go with a AGM-35 which is the same size battery, but has a higher cold cranking amp rating and reserve capacity (better for extreme weather due to added power).

Ask Your Own Toyota Question

If you go to Napa any of the Napa Legend batteries in Group 35 will wok also.

Ask Your Own Toyota Question

The Napa legend batteries are slightly cheaper, but we haven't had a ton of luck with the Napa legends as far as longevity goes.
