Customer Question
I have a 95...

I have a 95 3.0L 4x4 toyota that drives fine. I smashed off the 02 sensor and the truck would idle low and surge. I have now replaced the 02 sensor my code has gone away but the truck has the same symptoms

Mechanic's Assistant: Which particular sensor are you asking about? And have any trouble codes been triggered?

The o2 sensor. Trouble codes were cleared once i replaced it

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your 9-5 yourself? What have you tried so far?

I am fixing it myself. Suspected vaccum leaks so i sprayed brake clean on all vaccum lines no change. Took off my maf and checked for sticking its fine. Unplugged cold start sensor and tps but made no difference

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Thats it

hello, check the air intake hoses between the air filter and the throttle body for cracks or loose connections it sounds like air is getting in before the throttle body.

I do not have a vacuum gauge no but i can get one. I was getting an O2 sensor code but that was because i broke it off. I replaced it there are no codes now
Toyota Mechanic: Peter Bagley, Auto Service Technician replied 4 months ago

Ok I hear you. Would like to see some live data readings as well but lets do the vacuum gauge thing first. I'll check in tomorrow to look at your notes so we can proceed if that's ok.
