Hi, I have a 2012 Prius V. I just hit 86K miles on it. A few days ago I took it in to the dealership to have the oil changed and tires rotated.

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you ever changed a tire on this vehicle?

No.

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Prius yourself? What have you tried so far?

Today the malfunction indicator lamp, slip indicator light, brake system warning light and hybrid system warning light all came on.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

It is also making a high pitch whine

Also, they recommended that I change the cabin air filter as well as the engine air filter, which I did...

The issues occuring now are not related to the dealers repairs unfortunately.The warnings you are seeing is to alert to you that a fault is detected with one of the hybrid system components or electronics on your modelThe whine noise is related and may be a whine from the engine or alternator or a hybrid component.

What has to be done is to have the fault codes read out/checked with a fully compatible scan tool or computer that will plug into your vehicle and that can read all computers to see what codes are set.Once this is done any codes set then need to be diagnosed to then locate and repair this issue.This has to be done to help locate and repair this fault.
