When the check engine light flashes it indicates cylinder misfire. If you get the code numbers we can isolate which cylinder is misfiring. this could be caused by anything from an ignition coil to bad spark plug or cylinder compression or even a bad injector. Depending on how many miles you have on it and what kind of service history you've done it could be something simple as the spark plug. Is not recommended to drive the vehicle with the cylinder misfire the check engine light flashing because it will cause catalytic converter damage. the other warning light come on by default whenever the check engine light comes on.

Where would I find the code numbers? And would it be safe for me to drive home which is about 45min from here without causing major damage?
Toyota Mechanic: Skyvisions, ASE Certified Technician replied 1 month ago

In most states except California or Virginia and New York they do free code reads at local parts stores like O'Reillys and AutoZone. We know what you have cylinder misfire because that's what causing the check engine light to flash. They do that so that it gets the customer's attention quickly because there's a major problem with potential damage of the catalytic converter. You need a code reader and AutoZone and parts stores have those. You can purchase a code reader for less than $50 these days I recommend everyone have one in the glovebox. That being said the bot***** *****ne is I strongly recommend you do not drive this with cylinder misfire. Short distance five or 6 miles to get to safe a place or auto parts store or repair facility is about the most I recommend.
