Customer reply replied 8 months ago
engine does it under load at stop light or just in park and gas it quickly...
Toyota Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 8 months ago

did you check the breather hose connected to the maf ,no leaks , any vacuum lines you disconnected you check back ?

code reader will not help with what we call pending or history fault code so the ecm has not picked the fault yet to see it using ur code reader

a capable scanner can which i know not available to you these are few thousand dollar scanner we have at repair shops

now the bogging down is lack of fuel or to much air , so we need to test fuel pressure and do a vacuum leak test and then check our spark

If you do not mind me asking ,are you looking at fixing this yourself or looking to know the most possible cause of this issue and taking it to repair shop for the work ?

Do you have any prior experience in electrical troubleshooting and testing with a test light for power & ground ?

Do you have a test light & or power probe for testing ?

Do you have a test light so we can check for spark ?

Do you have fuel pressure tester to check for fuel ?

a capable scanner that can read live data ,for maf and fuel trim readings ?

Please let me know

Thank You

i would like to fix myself, im pretty familar with cars, i do most all my repairs. i have a test light but no pressure gauge handy, i believe my reader reads all the live data
Toyota Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 8 months ago

ok cool

try to pull up fuel trims data at idle and at operating temp ?

fuel status : open loop or closed loop at idle at operating status ?

the fuel pressure is important to know ?

but lets work with what we have ?

Please let me know

Thank You

I guess I can’t see from data or fuel
Pressure , it says closed loop..
Toyota Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 8 months ago

closed loop is good , but the fuel trim are important for me to know or it will be a guess on my part and we do not want to guess
