Did you use a Toyota/Denso AFR sensors? Did you replace the rear 02 sensors after the cats? Does your scan tool give you the data list or freeze-frame data information from when the 606 code set?

Toyota Denso, no. Back O2's, yes, I'll have to look at the freeze frame for the 606, which readings, not very accustom to freeze frame data?
Toyota Mechanic: Skyvisions, ASE Certified Technician replied 10 months ago

As with the air fuel ratio sensors. There is a technical service bulletin to address that issue to replace the sensors. The 21 and 2200 series codes mean 99% of the time bad air fuel ratio sensors. In a few rare occasions I have seen the computers get damaged however the 606 code will also set if the voltage for the rear 02 sensors either bank exceeds 1 V if you look at the freeze-frame data if the voltage of the bank one or bank two rear oxygen sensors was over 1 V both sensors will need to be replaced. That overvoltage affects the logic for the monitoring circuit in the computer setting the 606 code. It's very rare that the computer gets damaged at that point..

If you're still getting front air fuel ratio sensor codes and you did not use Toyota sensors or that denso aftermarket sensor the chances are you've got bad sensors even if their new I've not had much luck with aftermarket sensors.

Just replaced the fronts with Denso's on Sunday, hadn't had a chance to look at the data or any trips further than a mile, hopefully tomorrow for about 100 miles

Good evening, now I'm trying to find out why it's reporting a P0 606 it wasn't before would there be any link
Toyota Mechanic: Skyvisions, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

If you have the wrong post catalytic converter oxygen sensor Or it spikes over 1 V it will set a 606 code in the computer.

Ask Your Own Toyota Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
meaning the downstreams need to be denso/Toyotas as well? Wouldn't think you could capture a spike.
Toyota Mechanic: Skyvisions, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

I cannot say for certain but if you monitor the voltage of the downstream oxygen sensors they should never go over about .9 V. Once they break 1 V it will start to screw up the logic in the computer and sets the 606 code. That the monitoring side of the computer for the oxygen sensor circuit. Pulley recommend using Denso brand AFR sensors or oxygen sensors. Read more here or goggle the code and read more forums.

evening, talk about getting tired of this replaced both downstream o2 with denso and now I get a po430, is there something I'm missing with different codes always coming up, all these couldn't go bad in a serial fashion!!!!
Toyota Mechanic: Skyvisions, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

Okay the P0430 code means that the catalyst for bank two is failing for the catalytic converter. The only way this code will set is if the sensors are working correctly. This is not a sensor failure this is strictly the catalytic converter efficiency deteriorating. Do you require emissions testing to get your license plates Renewed?
