Not at all. Brand new battery.

ok well its late here Ill be back on in the morning. when you jumper 3 to 5, the starter should crank. if not then the starter is bad. let me know

you need to disconnect the neutral safety switch and check for power on position 4, black/yellow wire while someone hold the key to start postion.

my friend came over and found the problem. The shifter cable is either loose or broken. The reason the van wasn't starting is because it was stuck in D. He checked it by manually shifting the gears under the hood where the shifter cable connects to the transmission.

He only found the problem. Now, the challenge is to find someone who will be willing to change it without costing me an arm and a leg. It's not real easy to access.
