have to remove door panel,not very easy with door in closed position,seat in the way) That was not an answer, do door you remove the door panel with the door closed.
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 2004 XLE
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Toyota wanted 1200 just to access! Yes myself.

Most door panels are able to be removed with a door closed but in some cases the panel does have to be damaged to remove it. It may be possible to partially remove the panel enough to gain access to inside the door to work but not fully remove it.
