Customer Question

My check engine light came on so I took the car to the dealer. They say the knock sensor has to be replaced. I'm just wondering what a ballpark price should be for this work.
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: Stays on
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser
JA: Are you fixing your FJ Cruiser yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: no
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Factory time it calls for about 8 hours to remove and replace these sensors. The O.E. part number is(###) ###-####which lists out at $227 bucks.

Depending on the dealerships hourly rate and the states tax, (possibly even shop supplies), your looking close to about $1000 bucks installed.
