Recently replaced the battery for the first time in my

Customer Question

Hi. Recently replaced the battery for the first time in my Toyota RAV4 and now the alarm is bewitched. It went off while driving and now randomly goes off I need to know how to disable and be able to drive it.
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: My neighbors and I have never been so annoyed! Any help is greatly appreciated the battery is fine. and it is not leaking, I just took it out and put it back in
JA: What year is your RAV4?
Customer: 2003
JA: Are you fixing your RAV4 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: My battery was dead on Tuesday, had it replaced on Wednesday at an auto store. It was fine until last night when it suddenly went off while driving, then continued to randomly go off on its own. My transponder (battery is good there too) does not shut it off I took the battery out to reset it, inspect it, and then re-connected it. Still same issue and going off more frequently now. So not much...
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That it mostly it! I don't need the alarm, so if the mechanic could just tell me how to disable it I will gladly do it. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Ron and I will be helping you today.
Stand by for a moment while I prepare your answer.

Expert:  rpmdiag replied 2 months ago.

I attached the procedure for you to follow to fix this issue. You can't disable the security system though, it's part of the computer system in the body module.

Please understand that I don't know your skill level or tools you
have to assist us. Also understand that I can't see, smell, hear, or
touch the vehicle either, so your patience is appreciated. JA is a
great Q/A site, but it does not replace a repair shop. So please
don’t shoot the messenger if I have to deliver bad news:)
If you are satisfied with my answer, I would greatly appreciate a 5
star rating now and I will still assist you after you have rated me
too if another question pops up. I don’t get credit for helping you
until you rate me.
Thanks again, Ron

Ok. Thanks, ***** ***** go through this list and see what happens. Unfortunately, it's Sunday so I can't bring it to a dealership at the moment. I'll let you know!

Our goal here is to assist you in the repair of your vehicle by
supplying you with well educated information. We may not always
have the exact fix you wanted to hear, but our job is to get you on
the right track, which we always do. We can’t hear, see, smell or
touch your vehicle from where we’re at, so your understanding of
that is greatly appreciated. There are no magical or miraculous
answers, but we do our best to guide you in the right direction.
Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron. Unfortunately, the .pdf wasn't all that helpful in resetting the alarm in my car. It continues to sound off without any provocation.
