Will the engine rev up and do you notice any loss of power?

Just worried if I can drive it home
Expert:  Skyvisions replied 8 months ago.

You should be fine to drive home. Provided you do not live in California or Virginia most auto parts stores like AutoZone and O'Reillys do free malfunction code reads if you can swing into one of those places on the way home get me the code numbers I can better advise you on what is causing the check engine light to come on. The vehicle skid control light or VSC light will come on by default whenever the check engine light comes on. If at anytime the check engine light starts to flash and you start losing power do not drive the vehicle this will cause catalytic converter damage due to cylinder misfire.

Great I will also check the gas cap. I researched and 40% cause if it is not tight

You are welcome. Typically whenever the check engine light comes on and there's no cylinder misfire or loss of power or difficult starting it is usually evaporative emissions related or catalytic converter related. If you get the code numbers post them back here please.
