Took it for a state safety inspection and it was failed

Customer Question

took it for a state safety inspection and it was failed because of oil leaking from rear differential seals. Is there a way to check the level? I have an appointment next Monday, is it safe to drive?
JA: Have you ever replaced the gaskets? Maybe the hoses?
Customer: no
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 2009 matrix S AWD 2.4L
JA: Are you fixing your Matrix yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: no
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
