Battery dead. Doors locked. Key won't turn in drivers side

Customer Question

Battery dead. Doors locked. Key won't turn in drivers side lock (only one on the truck). 2005 4runner.
JA: Do you have another key you can try this with?
Customer: This key works in the ignition just fine. Not worn. Is the door lock mechanical?
JA: Are you fixing your 4Runner yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have tried to open the door so I can charge the battery.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No.

Hello and welcome to just answer. Your input is very important to my questions so I can help you.I see you have only one key and it doesn't work in the door.Have you tried spraying penetration oil in the lock and working the key in and out then wiggling the key? Some times they cut keys so it only works in the ignition or doors and one would be a master. If that don't work you have a couple of options. call AAA to open the door , or remove the under cover under the front of the vehicle to gain access to the hood latch so you can hook the hood realese cable to open the hood. I hope this gives you some options to solve your problem
