My darling wife re-installed the rear passenger head rest facing in the wrong direction. Now it appears to be jammed and will not come out or go any further in. I tried pulling it out but is is solidly stuck.

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!

There are notches on the head rest supports that are made specifically to engage the locks in the sleeves in the seat that they engage, on the correct side. The locks may be engaged in a way they cannot be released since the headrest was installed incorrectly, it may have to be forced out by whatever means necessary. The sleeves may need to be broken to get it to release.

Does it not adjust up or down whatsoever?

Are both sides even or has one locked in a position higher or lower than the other?
