The alarm system activates during the first 3-6 minutes after starting
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: Yes, I reset the keyfob and put a new battery in it The key fob does every thing its supposed to do
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: Its my girlfriends, either a 2006 or 2008 I worked on it for several hours last Saturday and ended up disconnecting the two horns up front
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: 0New battery in fob and reset the functions via the instructions Everything works on the fob, turnk, doors etc....
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

you need to have the anti theft module scanned for fault code using a Toyota scanner or equivalent to see what is failing in the system

a key , door switch, hood switch , the module itself etc...

But for now you can try to reset it in case it it the first time happened and cutting all power to it

Master reset Procedure

1- Disconnect Battery Cables ( Negative & Positive Cables )

2- Hold cables Together for 60 secs ,then let go

3- Wait 15 minutes

4- Make sure all doors are closed

5- Reconnect battery Cables

6- Lock & unlock the vehicles using the key from driver door side (if you have a key fob with no blade key, just lock & unlock using the key fob buttons)

7- Enter the vehicle and attempt to start
