car was performing flawlessly. it has 134000 mi. the 12 volt aux batt finally discharged and at a very low voltage showed the P lock malfunction code. replaced the batt with a toyota battery, the code is still present and cant get it to clear.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: p lock malfunction when parking park in a flat place and set parking brake securely
JA: Are you fixing your Volt yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I replaced the 12 volt battery in the rear of the car with a new Toyota battery.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Do you have a voltmeter and reasonable knowledge of how to use it? When the ready light is on what is the voltage on the 12 v battery? Does your code reader give you a specific code from the computer? I need that code number.
