turn key, nothing happens. All electrical is dead, and the clock resets. However starts on the next turn of the key.
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: car is in park
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 2002 sequoia
JA: Are you fixing your Sequoia yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: fixing myself. Have not tried anything. Just doing research on the internet.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

It has only happened twice. First time was yesterday evening. No issues this morning, but happened again at the end of the day. It is as if turning the key creates a short.

Hello, have you checked the battery terminal connections, make sure they are tight and not corroded .You should also have the battery tested it may have a cell that is shorting out, most autoparts stores test batteries at no charge.
