Customer Question

We had trouble starting the truck. I turn the key and got 1 click. That's it. Battery is fine. After wiggling the key, it started.
JA: Is the car in "Park" or "Neutral?" Do you know if your car has a "wheel lock" feature?
Customer: We tried both neutral and park. Not sure about the wheel lock. It's a 2000 tundra. It's working and starting now. Not sure why
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Took it to a mechanic and it started every time.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: He checked the alternator battery etc.

Thanks for posting, if the battery and the connections are good then I would suspect that it has a starter that is beginning to go out, the clicking noise is the starter solenoid engaging but the interior connection between the solenoid and the starter is weak and there is a loss of voltage, this is very common on Toyota trucks, the starter/solenoid assembly is always sold as one unit.

It's only 1 click. That's it. Does that matter?

Not really, it sounds like it's intermittent and it will get worse over time.
