Customer Question

After removing and replacing battery alarm will not shut off or allow me to start.
JA: Have you tried locking and unlocking the driver's side door using the key itself?
Customer: Yes
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 1999
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. Switching ignition on/off 5 times. Holding red button on dashboard while turning key.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Red light on dash and flashers blinking horn would be honking but I pulled the fuse.

Please try the following procedure:

Remove the key from the car

disconnect the negative battery cable

open the door and put the key in the on position leaving the door open

reconnect the battery, if the horn stays off it should start.

If not look for an on/off switch on the left kick panel and turn it off.
