Customer Question

Hello Pearl. My 06 Prius has the rear 12V batter fan running at a super high speed all the time. I'm reading this is probably due to a failing hybrid battery issue... What do you think?
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: no, I have not tested it with a meter. No, it is not leaking.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: combination of myself and repair shop
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I have only read online and disconnected the negative batter lead and reconnected

The fan speed is determined by temperature sensors on the battery in the case and the control computer, first make sure there is no restrictionof the air intake vent for the battery and that the ducting is in place to the battery. Does the hybrid warning light turn on or is a check engine light on?
