JA: What are all the symptoms you've noticed (e.g. noises, leaks, flashing lights, error codes)?
Customer: No codes, starts well but stutters when first driving till warmed up the runs great. New plugs, rotor cap and wires. No apparent vacuum leaks. Bypassed the fuel pump resistor no change. Thinking fuel pump....or wires.
JA: Have you ever replaced the fuel pump, or is this the original?
Customer: Original, but runs great when warm
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Most myself
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Idles starts well, runs great when warmed up.
When started cold I have to be easy on the throttle otherwise it cuts out, but does not stall, need to drive very gently till warm

ok. try cleaning the mass airflow sensor, idle air control valve, egr valve and throttlebody plates.... it could be all carboned up.

hello and welcome to just answer, my name is Peter and thank you for allowing me to try and help you. So to get a better picture of what we are dealing with a couple questions please.What engine do you have in this FJ ? Have you flushed the injectors at all? Did you have it scanned for any pending or history codes? After it warms up it runs completely normal with power and no missing under load or at idle?

On cold start ECT and air intake are pretty close temperature wise.
I have no Absolute Throttle reading until ECT hits 190 plus degrees.
Once the Throttle link become active the truck responds well.
Thinking a coolant sensor?
Maybe I can run a jumper to test and or continuity of wires to the second coolant sensor.

Once Throttle link is active I have 11 at ldle and 77 '/. At WOT

that's what I suspect the temp sensor, do you have a scanner that can read all perimeters? that would show exactly the temp sensor readings at each temp. it's one of the main inputs to the ECU to enrich en the fuel at certain temperatures. It also has an air temp sensor so check both easy way of checking them is start off cold and put ohm meter across terminals and rum till warm, see if the value changes if not then that's defiantly the problem.
