Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

I would recommend attempting diagnosis and repair of hybrid vehicle system components only if properly trained and have all proper safety and testing equipment.

The warning light is coming on because a failure is being seen in a hybrid system component, which could literally be dozens of things. It could be an inverter issue, a battery problem, the issue could be with the transmission/traction motors, cables, loss of isolation, it could be a failure in a module or simply a software issue; literally any failure in the hybrid drive components can turn this warning on.

The first step in diagnosing the issue is to use a scan tool or code reader to see what fault codes have set. Do you know what codes are currently setting?
