Customer Question

My 2001 Tacoma's engine is off and will not turn on but the electrical system is still on. I can't get a tow truck until the morning and just want to get it shut down for now. What's the best way to go about doing this without making the horn sound all night long? (It's in a grocery store parking lot)
Also, any idea how I may be able to repair it myself?
The most important thing for me right now is to get the truck shut off.

Hi Im David.... Disconnect the battery

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Will that make my horn honk all night if I don't disconnect it? I've also seen some responses online that say if I unhook the battery while its pulling a charge, it could short out all the electrics. Will it?

no. it wont. if you disconnect both terminals on the battery, nothing will happen. there wont be anything that uses power operating, therefore no electrical system can be damaged. and your horn will not sound. it needs battery voltage to operate
