Our 2004 Toyota Sienna transmission failure, the fluid blew

Customer Question

Our 2004 Toyota Sienna transmission failure, the fluid blew out and also the vehicle will not move not matter what gear or reverse.
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you checked the brake switch?
Customer: The car is with a mechanic and they say the engine has to come out to get to the transmission, this is a 12 year old vehicle with 87K miles.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I added more fluid, no luck, there is loud whining sound still and the tranny fluid got onto some engine parts and was smoking badly
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Can you confirm that for a 2004 Toyota Sienna the engine has to come out to get to the transmission?
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Toyota Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.
