The dealership gets a lot of questions about that monitor display. It is NOT an accurate representation of the HV battery state of charge. Primarily, that display is provided to the driver as a means of showing activity so driving habits can be adjusted to achieve maximum fuel economy. The colors change at preset levels on the display itself. The computers monitor the HV battery on a continuous basis and if there is a block in the battery that gets weak, the check engine light and hybrid warning light will come on. The battery normally goes through cycles of charging and discharging and this is normal.
