2003 4runner. Rear hatch window rolls dow ok, but only goes up halfway and then stops

Customer: 2003 4runner window only rolls halfway up

Customer: I make sure there was nothing obstructing the pathway the window. I took the hatch your part to make sure everything went OK. What do you think it is?
JA: Is there anything else the Toyota Mechanic should be aware of about your Toyota?
Customer: I had to remove the rear latch lock assembly because it got stuck and I could not get the hatch open. This window problem before I took the hatch lockout.

Hello, thanks for posting

The window may have to be re initialized, try this , if it doesn't work there may be a problem with the regulator binding up or the back door ecu has a malfunction.

Roll the window up as far as it will go

roll it down and hold the switch down for about ten seconds

if the window goes back up all the way hold it there for another ten seconds, that will re initialize the computer.

I did this procedure in the window still stopped halfway out.

Check to see if the regulator may be getting stuck, remove the bolts that hold the glass on and slide it all the way up then see if the regulator moves up as well, the window limit switches make contact with the glass when it's all the way up, if the regulator still stops halfway up the problem is most likely the backdoor ecu.
