Toyota Tundra: 2007 toyota tundra ab60e transmission. When

Customer Question

2007 toyota tundra ab60e transmission. When the truck is in park, reverse, ect. It is still in drive. It won't go in reverse or anything. The valve body is fine the check balls are in place and seals are good. What else would make it do this?

Just to clarify you're saying that even when it's in park it wants to go forward and drive? Can you start the vehicle in neutral or does it still seems to accelerate forward as if it's in drive even when in neutral?

No matter if it's in park or neutral the truck thinks it's in drive and will only go forward

I have seen this happen about four times on the tundra and Sequoia. In all four cases the customers declined disassemble and inspection but it was my determination that the forward clutch or one of the pinion gears/planetary gear sets locked up. This would thereby give you no neutral or park. In all of those cases the transmission was removed and replaced either with a remanufactured or used one and the transmission was never torn down to inspect the actual failed part, the customer never authorized it. The bot***** *****ne this is an internal transmission mechanical failure.
