roof stuck open on one side the right side is up the left side is not when you go to close it make a grinding noise

What you're going to find is that the cable has stripped on the gear on one side. You need to remove the trim ring that goes around the headliner to the sunroof opening. Once that's done pull down on the front side of the headliner to gain access to the 10 mm bolts that hold the drive motor to the roof and track assembly. You will need to remove these then pull down on the end of the drive motor to get it to release from the cables once that is done You will be able to grab a hold of the sunroof and pull it forward you would at least be able to get it closed but may not be all the way up tight sealed. The bot***** *****ne is you're going to have to replace at least the drive cables and possibly the motor depending on how strip the gear is.
