I need to replace the belt tensioner on a 2.4 2008 rav4.

Customer Question

I need to replace the belt tensioner on a 2.4 2008 rav4. Problem is the bolt which holds on the tensioner bracket hits the fender side wall before it is all the way out. Some comment on forum about using pry bar to push engine to drivers side. Sounds like the wrong approach to me. I'm tempted to drill a large hole in inner fender for bolt to go through. How do I remove it?

Thank you for trusting us with your questions. There are 2 ways to go about this. First, you mentioned drilling a hole. Really not the recommended approach. Best way is to support engine, remove motor mounts and lift up the front of the engine with a jack.
