We have a 2007 Prius, 200k miles we know the push rod on

We have a 2007 Prius, 200k miles we know the push rod on number 1 is bad and leaking oil, with the new lub oil we go through a qt. every 1000 miles, we can live with that we use 10/30 now. But several months ago the cruse control started to stop working, over a month it finely stopped completely Why? and what is the cure?

When you press the cruise control on button does the cruise light illuminate? If not then its likely the spiral cable between the steering column and steering wheel to blame. Can you do electrical diag?
