Hello. Welcome to Just Answer. Please allow me to assist you. No, the 2015 Highlander transaxle is not a 'sealed' unit. There is a breather hose (and a cap to the hose) that is fitted to the transaxle to allow excess heat and oil vapor out. If you have water in the transmission fluid, the front of the car encountered a significant level of water; either driving thru flood water, the front somehow was submerged in water up to the tops of the wheel wells, or something similar. Normal driving of the the car, thru rain, for example, will not allow water to enter the breather hose.
