Have Toyota Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello, thanks for posting
Did the dealer not connect a diagnostic computer to find out what the codes in the computer are, especially since the check engine light is on, the check engine light is normally the cause for the other lights to turn on so it should be diagnosed for the check engine light first, there has to be some diagnostic information, some code numbers.
Is it something to worry about? I would say yes since you experienced some vehicle stability issues or possibly an engine misfire. The loss of power is because the computer put the engine control system in " limp home mode".
If the dealer did not provide any code information you can visit a local auto parts store like O Reilly or Autozone and they will be able to scan the computer and give you some code information, they do this at no charge in all states except California.
