I have a 1998 toyota camry LE and recently I disconnected

Customer Question

Hello. I have a 1998 toyota camry LE and recently I disconnected the battery. After I reconnected the battery the car wouldn't turn on. The rear lights and turning lights on both sides are blinking. The vehicle was fine before I disconnected the battery. How do I turn on the vehicle with my key?

Thanks for posting
This usually happens because there is an aftermarket add on alarm that may have been installed previously, when disconnecting the battery the alarm is armed again, here is a procedure that works most of the time, if it doesn't let me know and we'll go from there:
remove the key from the car
disconnect the negative battery cable
insert the key and turn it to on
leave the door open
reconnect the battery
if the lights stop blinking the alarm is disabled and it should start normally.
