2015 Toyota Land Cruiser: We have a brand new 2015 land cruiser

Customer Question

We have a brand new 2015 land cruiser and this morning the vehicle will not start. Found the battery drained down to 3 volts. No sign of a light left on. Have been charging the battery for 30 minutes and will reconnect cables soon and check. Still not sure why a new vehicle would be drained. No doors or lights left on.

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!
You either have an internal failure in the battery or something stayed awake while the vehicle was parked and continued to draw current.
The first thing that should be done is load test the battery. If the battery is good then the next step will be an ignition off draw test. An ammeter will need to be connected between a disconnected battery terminal and it's post, if there is more than about 40 mA draw then there is cause for concern. You may have had a module stay awake an in turn kept others awake because of continued bus communication, or the problem could be a failed diode in the alternator.
