Customer Question

Hi. My 2004 Prius is stuck "on" - it won't turn off or shift out of Park. The electronics work (windows, radio) and the key fob is stuck in the ignition. What do I do? Kevin

The engine is not kicking on.

Hello ,thanks for postingThis typically happens when the 12 volt auxiliary battery in the trunk becomes discharged below 11.8 volts even though it may be enough to turn on accessories it is not enough voltage to energize the hybrid computers or start the gas engine, if you have a volt meter measure the battery voltage, if low it may be rechargeable but in most cases the battery needs to be replaced, especially if it's over four years old.
