Customer Question

I have a 2008 Avalon with 108,000 miles . I am taking a road trip this summer want to have service done. I was told I should get a tune-up because has over 100,000 miles. What does a tune up consist of? Is there anything else I should have checked before my road trip?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I'm here to help get your problem solved. Spark plugs should be replaced at 120k or every 144 months, whatever comes first. So the only thing a tune up would consist of spark plugs, air filter, belt, and some fluids. Your looking at around $600 total, it is a 4 hour job to replace the spark plugs on this vehicle. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.

Replace belt and fluids, what belt and what fluids?

Engine oil is the only fluid you really need to change but you can consider brake fluid, transmission fluid, and coolant even though they are not needed. The serpentine belt is the belt which would need replacing assuming it is worn and hasn't been replaced. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.
