Hello and thank you for using just answer!

What speed does the engine idle at when stopped?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Not sure, I can't check it now my wife is out with the car

let me know when you can. Start the car and let it run until warm, make sure a/c and everything is off, tell me what the rpm reads at idle in park and then in drive, we are looking to see if you are around 750 rpms or not here....

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I let the car warm up (the problem does not seem to appear when cold) the car idles at aboutXXXXX(brake on) and 675 in neutral the noise or hum occurs when I shift to drive or reverse with brake on and goes away if I take my foot off the brake

ok, you need to have the motor mounts checked, there are 3 of them, not a major issue or a safety concern but when they wear it allows powertrain movement and some noise.
