Where is the thermostat on a 1999 Toyota Camry? We need to change it out, but it is not where we thought... Please describe. Thanks - Dianne
Hello and thank you for using just answer. IS this a 4 or 6 cylinder camry?

A 4 cylinder Camry

Thank you for the reply. The thermostat is located at the water pump on your car. Look at the front of the engine where the oil filter is located the left of the oil filter you will see where your lower radiator hose connects to the water pump housing, there are 2 10mm nuts that hold this housing to the pump and that is where the thermostat is located at. (the housing is a black piece of plastic). Drain your coolant and remove these 2 10mm nuts to remove the thermostat housing from the waterpump. Thank you.
