My wife and I were married in April of 2019. She was a PA resident until 04/30/19 & then became an NJ resident. For tax year 2019, she received NJ & PA W2's (with each state's income and tax withholding broken out separately). For 2019, we filed federal taxes as ‘married filing jointly' and are filing NJ state income taxes as ‘married filing jointly.' For PA, we filed her taxes as ‘Single-Partial year resident.' My question is for our NJ State 2019 return, do I only show the income that is attributed to NJ on her W2 OR for both NJ & PA? I'm leaning towards only NJ, given that PA taxes while she was a PA resident were already withheld. Hence, for the eight months she lived in NJ, I believe she should only be taxed by NJ on those 8 months of income. But, I am looking online at the reciprocity agreement, and am confused.
