My tax agent postponed one of my previous tax year's taxes

Hello, my tax agent postponed one of my previous tax year's taxes with the IRS, and then forgot to file the taxes by the extended deadline. Is there any liability on them because of this or does the IRS show any leniency towards me if it was their fault? i.e: they said they would file it but then didn't.Thank you so much for your time!
