I retired with a bonus in May 2018. In June, I moved to
My name is ***** *****. I retired with a bonus in May 2018. In June, I moved to Alabama from my previous state of TN. I had my address changed to Centreville :Alabama from Sale Creek, TN. Sale Creek was the address that I lived at while teaching. My husband is currently doing taxes and the W-2 form from the place where I worked mailed the form to my new address. However, TN has not state income tax while Alabama does. According to my husband, it looks as if I worked in Tennessee while living in Alabama from January to when I retired from the school system in May 2018. We moved to Alabama in June 2018 and had all my TCRS (Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System) checks sent to our new address. My question is how can I show that I both lived and worked in TN until I retired in May 2018 so that I don't have to pay the additional six thousand to Alabama since I neither worked, nor lived in Alabama while I was employed? Is there some kind of form that we can find on turbo tax for this? Thank you, ***** *****. emails***@******.*** … read more
