Welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist you.

You were misinformed about filing single.

If you are married, you can file married filing jointly or married filing separately. It does not matter if one spouse does not work.

Married filing separate is the LEAST ADVANTAGEOUS filing status.

You will continue to file married filing jointly with your husband.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you and best regards,

Barb
