I have a question on Schedule SE. MY wife runs her own
MY wife runs her own business. I filled out schedule C to determine her business income for line 12 on 1040. Do I need to fill out schedule SE? I thought that I did, so I started to fill out schedule SE. I don't have farm or religious income, so line 1a and 1b were zero. Line 2 was $8684 and Line 3 was $8684. I multiply by .9235 to get $8020 for line 4. But the instructions for line 4 say "don't file this schedule unless you have an amount on line 1b". Well, I don't have an amount on line 1b because that has to do with farm income and social security and disability benefits that don't pertain to me.
